This blog is currently on indefinite hiatus. I'm still on Tumblr, just not here. I'll still be checking messages from time to time so if you would like my other blog URL leave a message for me here and I'll give it to you.
Until then.

Reasons to love the Hartnell era.
3. SUSAN.
Yes, we’re saying she’s a reason to love the era.  Many will disagree as she is hardly a popular companion but she is always referred to because everyone has the curiousity of whether she is the Doctor’s granddaughter.
Susan is sometimes poorly written and contradictory but when she’s written right, she is a great character.  She is alien and human at the same time, adventurous and clever, compassionate and cute. She screams a lot? Who cares, lots of 15 year olds scream, its not like we know that she is hundreds of years old. She is presented to us as an adolescent who has spent much of her life drifting around space, she is bound to be a little annoying at times.
She loves her grandfather dearly and would do anything to protect him and she values her friendship with Ian and Barbara. When Susan gets to use her telepathic abilities in the Sensorites, we get to see the mysterious and alien Susan.
Her falling over a couple of times and screaming a bit should not discredit her as a good character, some of her scenes in Dalek Invasion of Earth show how much she’s grown and changed and how she wants to belong somewhere.  She’s fragile and vulnerable and a great character for younger teenagers to relate to (After all, that’s what the creators wanted)
And she’s the Doctor’s flesh and blood and that makes her one of the most interesting, important and discussed of all he has travelled with… and maybe one day…we’ll learn more about her.

True Fax.
I love Susan.  I think she’s fantastic.  Very few people agree with me but her Ian and Barbara are probably my team TARDIS.
