I’ve changed my mind.
If Michelle Bachmann OR Rick Perry get elected, I’m staying in Wales.
Nice knowing you America, but you’re not worth it.

Immigration policy.
How can you tell someone who’s been living here for most of his adult life that he has 90 days to pack up his entire life and get the fuck out?
After you made him jump through hoops for almost a year in the hopes of being allowed to stay?
What makes you think that’s an okay way to treat another human being?
I stared at it for several minutes and had to work really hard not to tear it down.
Florida Gov. Rick Scott, a Republican, on his plan to reform the state’s higher ed system by shifting funds away from liberal arts programs and toward math, science, engineering and tech programs that he believes will create more jobs. (via officialssay)
University reforms is one thing— I get that everyone’s budget is tight and that might mean cutbacks are necessary (could I suggest possibly spending less on defense? Just an idea) and there are definitely problems with our education system at all levels. But putting value judgments on degrees/career paths makes me deeply uncomfortable. Leave that for after they have the degree; society already has that disagreeable discrepancy. People who go into the liberal arts know it’s probably not going to make them a millionaire. That’s not why they choose their major. I know it’s hard for you bottom-line practical folks to understand, but some weird hippies choose a subject to major in because they enjoy it. Also, how can you say anthropologists aren’t an important part of your state? Do you even know what it is they study, what it means to be an anthropologist?

Yupp. All of that. Seriously, not everyone can think only think of money. Some people actually do things because they love it. Shocking, I know, and those people are just as important to society.
I am very tired of people saying my field doesn’t matter, seriously, fuck you.
PolitiFact New Jersey: N.J. students do better on AP tests than students from any other state
Look at that Christie, the pubic school system you’re trying to run into the ground is actually pretty great.
